Due to growth, we are looking to recruit a driven and ambitious Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead sales efforts and drive the development of our business in Energy at Captec. If you’ve got a strong background in a field-based business development and experience selling specialised computers and rack integration platforms, then we want to hear from you!
Reporting to the Sales and Marketing Director, you will be working closely developing and executing the Energy strategy, maximising business success and potential. As our new BDM, you will require a solid technical background as engagement with the engineering team will be a requirement and understanding customer needs ensuring successful delivery of the projects. The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate an existing pipeline of opportunities in this sector.
To succeed in the position, you’ll need strength of character, confidence, and eagerness to take on new challenges in a target driven environment. Negotiation skills and a polished customer facing approach is key, as you’ll be communicating and presenting persuasive value propositions to a range of audiences. As this role focuses on new business, you will be mainly field based, reporting into our HQ in Hampshire.

An opening has arisen for a Project Engineer to join our COTS team, providing technical support to both support the bidding and winning of both server and rack integration business as well as releasing, managing, and supporting of first off projects through to production.
This exciting role will give you the opportunity to work with emerging technology for an industry-leading computer specialist. What’s more, is you will be joining an award-winning hardware specification team in driving our computer and rack integration services to our customers.
The role is ideal for a technical person who also enjoys the interaction with sales and customers as well as getting involved in commercial aspects of winning business.
The successful candidate will have a good baseline technical background. The ideal candidate will have some prior experience in specifying, configuring, or supporting technical solutions. They will have a good understanding of computer hardware and operating systems along with a basic understanding of 19” Rack architectures.
As a Project Engineer, you will be taking responsibility of the day-to-day management of COTS projects. You will be liaising with customers to determine their technical requirements, identifying the customer needs and pains and finally, you will be supporting business strategy by proactively developing hardware knowledge with regular engagement with our key hardware partners.
The role will also require the candidate to interface to multiple stakeholder teams in the business for the realisation of won compute and rack integration opportunities. These will typically involve the purchasing team, the production team and any other associated services such as validation and verification, documentation, compliance, logistics as well as engineering teams for custom designed elements.
