Captec to Support The Royal Marines Charity in Historic Expedition

We are delighted to announce we will be providing an in-vehicle tablet installation service in support of The Royal Marines Charity’s Norway 75 expedition.

In June, a team of eight led by Captain Tim Pitcher, which includes serving and former Royal Marines, will travel the 2000 mile length of Norway by kayak and bike; retelling heroic stories of WWII combined Commando raids. This will commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Telemark raids which foiled the Nazi’s nuclear programme.

The team will be linking up with the local people and historical societies at each location, talking to those with a connection to events and building friendships along the way.

Norway 75 will raise money in support of deserving ex-servicemen and their families in need of personal assistance due to exceptional circumstances.

The crew will be completely self-sufficient, operating out of only two support vehicles, generously supplied by Jaguar Land Rover.

In addition, our strategic partners at Dell EMC and Gamber Johnson will be providing high-end Latitude 7212 Rugged Extreme Tablets and vehicle docks respectively.

That’s where we come in. Using all of our in-vehicle expertise, we will ensure the tablets are installed in the support vehicles to provide the reliability, safety and performance the crew need for their journey.

Kevin Annis, our Strategic Partner Manager, said:

“By working together with world class corporations to provide technical equipment support, we at Captec are proud to have played a part in the The Royal Marines Charity’s N75 fundraising event.”

The tablet installation will be performed at our headquarters, Fareham. After the installation, the team and companies will head to Fort Nelson, Portsmouth, for a photoshoot and press interviews.
